Ahmed M. Metwalli, Ph.D.
Founder and President
With over 35 years of experience in the aerospace industry, Dr. Metwalli has a strong foundation in the commercial and defense markets and in diverse international operations.
From 2007 to 2012, Dr. Metwalli served in a dual role as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Aerospace Products International (API) in Memphis, TN and the COO of First Aviation Services, Inc. (FAvS), Westbury, CT. API is the largest operating division of FAvS. He managed a large portfolio of domestics and international subsidiaries and business units in Wichita, KS; Winston Salem, NC; Montreal, Canada; the Philippines; Singapore; Shanghai, China; Gondia, India; New Zealand, and Dubai which provide integrated logistics and sustainment services including OEM parts distribution, supply chain management programs, component MRO, and engineering solutions.
Prior to June 2007, Dr. Metwalli was vice President of business development and distribution at Kellstrom Industries in Miramar, Florida. He joined Kellstrom in 2003 as Vice President of Sales and Customer Support of the defense division which provides spares, repairs, and logistics services to military customers worldwide.
Dr. Metwalli began his career in aerospace with Lockheed Corporation in 1973 as the Training Manager for Lockheed Aircraft International, A.G. His positions during his tenure at Lockheed included Director of Research and Analysis, Director of Business Development, Director of Strategic and Business Planning, Director of Division Development and Planning, VP of Strategic Planning and Communications, and Vice President and General Manager of International Operations. He was responsible for the management of the business operations, wholly-owned subsidiaries and joint ventures of Lockheed Martin Aircraft and Logistics Centers in Argentina, China, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Egypt, and Australia. From 1987 to 2003, Dr. Metwalli held Secret, Top Secret and Special Access clearances. He left Lockheed Martin in 2003 to join Kellstrom Industries.
Metwalli Consultants was founded in 1975 to provide translation, contract, and training services and technology transfer solutions to major multinational contractors. Clients have included the Lockheed Corporation, Hughes Space and Communication systems, Northrop Corporation, Rockwell Collins, Allied Signal, Fluor Corporation among others.
Dr. Metwalli earned his Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Albany and a Master’s degree in Executive Management from the Peter F. Drucker Graduate School of Management at Claremont Graduate University, Claremont, CA. He is also a graduate of Lockheed Senior Management Institutes. In addition, Dr. Metwalli served as Professor at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, CA, from 1969 to 1990.
